If pastels and pretty prints are your thing, then you need to take a look at Lady V London’s latest dress range! They were kind enough to send me their new Vintage Summer Rose dress, which is in the beautiful Madison style.
I’d already been eyeing up the Lady V London Madison dresses, especially because they are made from an original 1950’s pattern. However the ruched chest area had me in a quandary. I thought I wasn’t ‘blessed’ enough, ahem, to carry the dress off. I can now confirm for women everywhere, that my B/C cup was given a real helping with this Lady V London dress as the design emphasised my assets with ease! Having boosted my confidence in my chest area (thank you Lady V London) the next area to tackle was my waist.
The nipped in waist on the Madison dress only goes to accentuate a vintage hourglass figure; something I am a huge lover of despite my inability to pursue corsetry (I just don’t have the persistence). Something else that endears me to Lady V London is that they appear to be true to size. I’m usually firmly between a size 10 and 12 so I was a bit apprehensive (and excited) when my measurements matched a size 10 perfectly. Sure enough my new dress fits well, so my advice for Lady V London fit is not to be wary of going by your measurements – in my experience they are true to the dress size.
Style and size aside, the floral pattern is gorgeous and makes for a great spring treat to help welcome in a (hopefully) sunny British summer.
This dress is comfy enough to be worn as a day dress but I think with a pair of heels and some seamed stockings it would also look amazing as a wedding or evening outfit, as the ruched detail and pleats makes it look rather fancy.
So the dress is fab but what about the company? Lady V London have an extensive ‘About Us’ that really outlines exactly who they are and their journey. I won’t bore you by regurgitating their story but they really appear to pride themselves on keeping their designs completely British, something not many reproduction brands can boast. I always think supporting small businesses wherever possible is great but it feels just as nice to purchase from a bigger company that upholds morals that are normally associated with smaller businesses.
So if you are looking for a ‘British born’ dress then Lady V London could be the company you are after. Postage was speedy and I was relieved to open my parcel to a non creased dress! That sounds like a ridiculous thing to make a note of but bear with me. Recently some of the items I have received from other companies couldn’t have looked less inviting once I’d seen them all crumpled up.
Other prints for this fab Lady V London Madison dress includes clocks, roses and a stunning green birds of paradise number that I am hoping to purchase soon. Like the sound of Madison? Then why not take a closer look here.
